After Effects

Abode after effects is a professional video editing program thats usually used with adobe premier pro. I'n after effects you can make animations and special effects after you have edited using adobe premier pro. It's mainly used for film and television.

In After Effects we have learnt how to make a simple animation where we drew a car, moon a tree and a road using the pen tool, and how to animate it by making simple keyframes so it could move. We earn how to create new layers, new objects.

I find using after effects quite easy cause i'm used to using premier pro and it's sort of the same interface however there are some thing i'm struggling with like using the pen tool to make objects. I find using after effects quit fun and useful and i'm really interested in making my own project.

i will be completing a flappy birds short trailer in after effects using the typical interesting commentating voice they use for most trailers. Using kiddy happy music, bright colours and theme. Fast paces to keep the target audience interested in the product.

Evaluation 2

Recut trailer lord of the rings to horror. The strengths, The editing and the sound effects had good timing to the video, It was easy to follow the story to. production company, Lots of and a good variety of clips. Strengths as a individual already know how to edit and I already know the whole of lord of the rings and best scenes related to horror. The weaknesses are the audio and the music. I found it hard to find the one little scene you're looking for because it's a 11hours 20 mins movie altogether. My weaknesses were audio editing picture editing. To improve I could watch youtube tutorials to work on my premier pro skills like audio.
Peer feedback. Tyler said it was effective because it gives the horror feel. I used good transitions and nice music in background, good sound effects. I need to improve on making more of you're own and to a bit more alteration to the story.

Evaluation

Overall I think that the zombie news report went quite well. The strengths was the location was creepy and went well with zombies. Strengths of the production company,  The production company had lots of ideas to develop the project  and everyone was willing to do something/improve on for instance the camera man didn't just stay there filming. Strengths as an individual is I'm good at editing and post production. The product had a few weaknesses suck as the acting was bad and not very prepared, the sound wasn't clear and made impossible to hear what their saying while editing and the script was bad generally my group made the lines up on the spot. The production company weaknesses were interacting and there was no back up plan as when we started to record it started to rain. My weaknesses are saying my ideas out loud, talking to group members lastly I didn't sound very antheustiactic. To improve I will work on my social skills and try to get to know everyone.
The peer feedback was positive they said I did well with transitions, intro and sounds however i need to work on less blur and being confident with sharing the sound.

I think the phone call improved a lot compared to zombie news report. strengths of the product we had some good clips, camera angles and a big variety of clips so I just used which ones I thought were the best. Production company strengths, we had good teamwork and we had boring clips and we were eager to film clips again. Strengths as as an individual I had lots of good ideas suck as camera angles. The weaknesses of the product, The camera stays on most clips and I think i would of been better to have two camera men filming at different angles. Overall I needed to get more involved with my ideas.
Cameron assessed my work and they said I succeeded in camera work, acting and editing however need to improve on the sound work.

Research

For the Zombie News Project we were shown a few videos in class. For instance we watched shawn of the dead whilst analysing the film talking about things like what are they wearing before the zombie apocalypse and after. Also we watched a short news clip which was real of a weird man chewing on someones face finally a fake clip where a man is giving an interview and they spotted a zombie. We had a exercise where he had zombie names and pictured and as a class we matched them all up. And lastly to help with the scripting we had paper which we would write then pass around the class without the other person seeing. This helped me with what to do with the makeup and movements and sound to make s a zombie.






In the phone call project we weren't shown as much. We watched an example of last years work and a short film to look at examples for lighting and camera angles. This helped with the camera angles you should be using. We also were given a few sheets to fill out and they asked things like risk assessment and phone numbers of you're group members and the actors.

For the recut trailer we watched a few clips from youtube instance The Shining transformed into a comedy and missis doughtfire into a horror. The research helped me to develop my project because it gave me an example of what type of editing effects i'm support to be using. We also filled in sheets to say what film were doing what genre.

Personal Skills Development

With technical skills development i'm happy about how my group in the phone call listened to my ideas because usually i get left out in groups. In the zombie project the teamwork and communication wasn't the best because people were doing things they didn't want to do. However I thought in the phone call the group worked a lot better and work more serious for instance going out to film better clip with better camera angles. We were quite good at meeting the deadlines. Group was always giving tips to the actors.

In the recut trailer there was no group work apart from pear assessing each others work and giving feedback.

Technical Skills Development

In the preproduction development in the zombie project we had to locate a place to film for the production also to figure out who will play which roll in zombie and phone call. We also had pre production sheets for the phone call where we would write examples. In the phone call each person individually wrote a script and later on we got into groups and they chose which script they liked the most. I didn't think I was very good at this, I was happy with my creative script though for the phone call. My work could of been improved by thinking more about how we will film it and will it work then just writing it down even though it may not even workout in the end. I'd say i'm good at making a different story. Also in preproduction we could plan out all of the camera shots to use also.

For the Production we used cameras, had lessons on how to use them . Mainly used the skills in The Phone call because not everyone understood how to use a camera in the zombie project. I found it hard because it's the first time I have used a professional camera before.Could be improved by reading or watching video tutorials on how to use a professional camera.

In Post production we used premier pro for editing and audio and photoshop for creating a poster. With photoshop we were firstly taught how to make a sequence and how to set up all the right settings. Than we chose a tailer to transform for instance if it were horror you could change it to comedy. We were recommended to use transitions, effects a lot of cuts Photoshop is also what were practising edit audio from. I feel like i'm quite good at post production because i fully understand how you use photoshop. I'm good at editing videos and making it look more interesting with cool transitions and edits. My work could probably improve by learning how to edit the audio.

My name is Josh Reszke and I do level two creative media hoping to do Level 3 next year. My interests are making gaming videos on youtube probably league of legends with just the funny moments and best clips. My interests are also playing games usually for fun not to get good at them.
 



This is the Blue yeti that I use at home to record videos with a rode podcaster arm stand that I mainly got so the blue yeti doesn't pick up every vibration.

I'm good at editing and post production such as photoshop, audacity. I'm not good at telling people what to do (main role of director) and general social skills, I prefer to work alone because it's more of you work and more to feel proud of.
